| The Rotary Centennial Nature Center welcomes you to Honeymoon Island, one of Florida’s few undeveloped barrier islands and most popular attractions for ecotourism.
We are proud to announce that the Rotary Centennial Nature Center will have it's grand opening on May 10, 2007. This will allow visitors to witness firsthand Honeymoon Island’s diverse world of natural plant and animal life through a variety of ecotours and exhibits.
Years of careful preservation have sustained this island as a haven for a wide variety of wildlife, including several threatened and endangered species. The goal of the Rotary Centennial Nature Center is to provide visitors with an experience that will educate them on the concept of environmental ethics while exposing them to one of Florida’s best-preserved environments.
In order to accomplish this goal, the Nature Center has created a number of exhibits and interactive displays to give visitors an eye-opening look at Honeymoon's flourishing ecosystem and communicate the importance of preserving the island's natural habitat.
With an abundance of flora and fauna and several natural communities, Honeymoon Island provides numerous opportunities for guests to observe the beauties of nature. The Rotary Centennial Nature Center hosts a variety of trail hikes and informative programs that will allow visitors to explore every corner of this natural paradise.
Come and explore some of the Gulf’s most beautiful, untouched beaches, scenic coast fronts, and undisturbed wildlife in one of Florida’s few enduring barrier islands.
